Roma vs Inter Milan

Stadio Olimpico is the venue as Roma and Inter Milan go head-to-head in a heavyweight Serie A clash.

Roma’s decision to sack club icon Daniele De Rossi and appoint Ivan Juric as his successor in the dugout has been on the money, with ‘I Giallorossi’ picking up seven points in three Serie A games under the Croatian manager (W2, D1). Both Juric’s league victories have come on home turf, seeing Roma score two second-half goals to beat Venezia and Udinese. In doing so, the hosts have extended their scoring run at the Stadio Olimpico to 24 matches – their longest such streak since September 2017! However, Inter’s visit puts Roma’s renaissance under imminent threat, with Juric’s side posting just one win in their last 14 league H2Hs (D6, L7), a run that includes a 4-2 defeat in this corresponding fixture in February.

That was Inter Milan’s third consecutive Serie A multi-goal margin win on this ground, highlighting the potential for another high-scoring contest. Simone Inzaghi’s side strung together back-to-back 3-2 league triumphs against Udinese and Torino before the international break to close the gap on table-topping Napoli to only two points. Maintaining their free-scoring form at the Olimpico would see Inter become the first side in the competition to score 300 goals against specific opposition. Delivering action from the get-go, the reigning Scudetto holders boast a league-high four goals scored inside the opening 15 minutes. However, growing defensive woes have seen ‘I Nerazzurri’ concede precisely two goals in their last three Serie A outings.
