PSG vs Al-Nassr

Yanmar Stadium Nagai is the venue as PSG and Al-Nassr go head-to-head in a handsomely-looking summer friendly.

Luis Enrique’s managerial career at PSG was off to a promising start as two second-half goals fired ‘Les Parisiens’ to a comfortable 2-0 triumph over newly-promoted Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre in their opening summer friendly. Kylian Mbappe, who was on the scoresheet in that win, is unlikely to feature again for the record-time French champions after refusing to extend his deal at the Parc des Princes. Mbappe’s anticipated departure could see PSG’s attacking output dwindle. Enrique’s men have netted 2+ goals in five of their last six outings (W4, D1, L1). However, they only managed two clean sheets in the sequence, highlighting the importance of the frontline’s contribution.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr cannot catch a break this summer. After an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Celta Vigo in their first pre-season friendly, the Saudi Pro League powerhouse succumbed to an equally disappointing 4-1 loss to Benfica last time out. Those failures followed up a decent-looking run of six straight matches without losing (W5, D1), with Al-Nassr netting multiple goals in all five wins in that sequence. With two of Al-Nassr’s last three outings seeing over 2.5 golas and both teams on the scoresheet before halftime, an action-packed first half could be on the cards.
